Tips On Health

“Our bodies are Christ’s purchased possession, and we are not at liberty to do with them as we please. All who understand the laws of health should realize their obligation to obey these laws which God has established in their being….We must individually answer to God for our habits and practices. Therefore the question with us is not, ‘What is the world’s practice?’ but, ‘How shall I as an individual treat the habitation that God has given me?’ ” Ministry of Healing 310

● Mental
What we choose to think about, directly affects our physical health.
💡Proverbs 23:7
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:…”
💡Proverbs 4:23
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

● Physical
The physical health is reflected in the mental performance; they work in sympathy with one another.
💡(Daniel 1:3-20)
“And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;
“Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
“And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
“Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
“Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
“Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
“And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
“Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
“Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
“–In taking this step, Daniel did not act rashly. He knew that by the time he was called to appear before the king, the advantage of healthful living would be apparent. Cause would be followed by effect. Daniel said to Melzar, who had been given charge of him and his companions: “Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat and water to drink.” Daniel knew that ten days would be time enough to prove the benefit of abstemiousness. . . .” 4BC 1167.3
“Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
“So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.
“And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
“Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.
“As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
“Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
“And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.
“And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.”
In turn, both the physical and the mental are directly affected for good or bad by the diet.

● Dietary
Lovely in = lovely out. We become what we consume.
💡 Deuteronomy 14:1-21  (Leviticus 11:1-47)
“Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
“For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
“Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
“These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
“The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
“And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
“Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
“And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
“These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
“And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
“Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
“But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
“And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
“And every raven after his kind,
“And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
“The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
“And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
“And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
“And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
“But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
“Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.”
💡 Exodus 15:26
“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”
“Christ had been the guide and teacher of ancient Israel, and He taught them that health is the reward of obedience to the laws of God. The Great Physician who healed the sick in Palestine had spoken to His people from the pillar of cloud, telling them what they must do, and what God would do for them….When they fulfilled the conditions, the promise was verified to them.” Desire of Ages 824

● Moral
We are responsible to God, our Creator, for what we do with our body which is His temple!
💡 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
“From eternal ages it was God’s purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator. Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for God. Darkened and defiled by evil, the heart of man no longer revealed the glory of the Divine One. But by the incarnation of the Son of God, the purpose of Heaven is fulfilled. God dwells in humanity, and through saving grace the heart of man becomes again His temple.” DA 161
💡 1 Corinthians 6:18-20
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
“All men have been bought with this infinite price. By pouring the whole treasury of heaven into this world, by giving us in Christ all heaven, God has purchased the will, the affections, the mind, the soul, of every human being. Whether believers or unbelievers, all men are the Lord’s property. All are called to do service for Him, and for the manner in which they have met this claim, all will be required to render an account at the great judgment day.” {COL 326.1}
“God Claims the Heart’s Throne—God has bought us, and He claims a throne in each heart. Our minds and bodies must be subordinated to Him, and the natural habits and appetites must be made subservient to the higher wants of the soul. But we can place no dependence upon ourselves in this work. We cannot with safety follow our own guidance. The Holy Spirit must renew and sanctify us. In God’s service there must be no halfway work.” (SpT, Series A, No. 7, p. 39). – {6BC 1088.5}
💡 2 Corinthians 5:10
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

● Spiritual
Confessing our faults to those whom we have wronged and praying one for another, facilitates our own healing!
💡 James 5:13-16
“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
💡 Matthew 5:23-24
“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
“Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
💡 Colossians 3:12-17
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
“And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

● Social
For the welfare of the human race, our wise, loving Creator wired us with social needs which, when adequately met, promote health and longevity.
💡 Genesis 2:18
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
💡 Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
“For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
💡 Proverbs 18:24
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
💡 Hebrews 13:16
“But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

● Eternal
Being perfect, God’s original diet which pre-dates sin – is best. It will be the same and only one when He returns — SOON! It is compatible with eternal life!! It is VEGETARIAN (PLANT-BASED)!!!
💡 Genesis 1:29
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”
💡 Isaiah 65:25
“The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.”
💡 Revelation 22:1-2
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
“In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

By the way,…
“God’s miracles do not always bear the outward semblance of miracles. Often they are brought about in a way which looks like the natural course of events. When we pray for the sick, we also work for them. We answer our own prayers by using the remedies within our reach. Water, wisely applied, is a most powerful remedy. As it is used intelligently, favorable results are seen. God has given us intelligence, and He desires us to make the most of His health-giving blessings. We ask that God will give bread to the hungry; we are then to act as His helping hand in relieving hunger. We are to use every blessing God has placed within our reach for the deliverance of those in danger.”
7BC 938.7

The Sabbath Express

Kind Words Never Lost

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

“It should be our aim to bring all the pleasantness possible into our lives, and to do all the kindness possible to those around us. Kind words are never lost. Jesus records them as if spoken to Himself. Sow the seeds of kindness, of love, and of tenderness, and they will blossom and bear fruit .” Manuscript 33, 1911/ 6BC 1118.2

By God’s grace, may each one of us enjoy a peaceful Sabbath Day experience.

Eye Prescription?!

“If … thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22.

“Singleness of purpose, wholehearted devotion to God, is the condition pointed out by the Saviour’s words. Let the purpose be sincere and unwavering to discern the truth and to obey it at whatever cost, and you will receive divine enlightenment. Real piety begins when all compromise with sin is at an end. Then the language of the heart will be that of the apostle Paul: ‘This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.’ ‘I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.’ Philippians 3:13, 14, 8″  Thoughts From The Mount of Blessing 91.2

🛐 Tips On Stewardship 💰

“The offering from the heart that loves, God delights to honor, giving it highest efficiency in service for Him. If we have given our hearts to Jesus, we also shall bring our gifts to Him. Our gold and silver, our most precious earthly possessions, our highest mental and spiritual endowments, will be freely devoted to Him who loved us, and gave Himself for us.”

Prayer: What is it?

🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐

What is it?…
🛐 “…prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse where are treasured the boundless resources of omnipotence” (Steps to Christ, 94, 95) Prayer 1.7

🛐 “Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.” Prayer 8.4

🛐 “Prayer is the breath of the soul. It is the secret of spiritual power. No other means of grace can be substituted and the health of the soul be preserved. Prayer brings the heart into immediate contact with the Wellspring of life, and strengthens the sinew and muscle of the religious experience. Neglect the exercise of prayer, or engage in prayer spasmodically, now and then, as seems convenient, and you lose your hold on God. The spiritual faculties lose their vitality, the religious experience lacks health and vigor….” Prayer 12.4

🛐 “It is a wonderful thing that we can pray effectually, that unworthy, erring mortals possess the power of offering their requests to God. What higher power can man desire than this, – to be linked with the infinite God? Feeble, sinful man has the privilege of speaking to his Maker. We may utter words that reach the throne of the Monarch of the universe. We may speak with Jesus as we walk by the way, and He says, I am at thy right hand.”  (Messages to Young People, 249, 250) Prayer 13.1

🛐 “Secret Prayer the Soul of Religion – Do not neglect secret prayer, for it is the soul of religion.” (Spiritual Gifts 2:264.) Prayer 13.2

🛐 Prayer is the avenue by which our soul holds dialogue with God: He speaks through His word to us; we respond effectually to Him through our prayers inspired by His Holy Spirit through His Word.

🛐 By God’s grace, we strive to experience this in the IPU at ABL. Will you join us?*

God’s Workmanship

Considering that:
“God is the owner of the whole man. Soul, body, and spirit are his. God gave his only begotten Son for the body as well as the soul, and our entire life belongs to God, to be consecrated to his service, that through the exercise of every faculty he has given, we may glorify him.
The Youth’s Instructor, September 7, 1893. HL 9.1

“From the first dawn of reason the human mind should become intelligent in regard to the physical structure of the body. Here Jehovah has given a specimen of himself; for man was made in the image of God.
Unpublished Testimonies, January 11, 1897. HL 9.2

“The living organism is God’s property. It belongs to him by creation and by redemption; and by a misuse of any of our powers we rob God of the honor due him.
Unpublished Testimonies, August 30, 1896. HL 9.3

“We are God’s workmanship, and his word declares that we are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made.’ He has prepared this living habitation for the mind; it is ‘curiously wrought’, a temple which the Lord himself has fitted up for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.”
Special Testimonies On Education, 33. HL 9.4

And, that:
“Man was the crowning act of the creation of God, made in the image of God, and designed to be a counterpart of God…. Man is very dear to God, because he was formed in his own image. This fact should impress us with the importance of teaching by precept and example the sin of defiling, by the indulgence of appetite or by any other sinful practise, the body which is designed to represent God to the world.”
The Review and Herald, June 18, 1895. HL 10.2

Have you ever wondered why it is that:
“The wonderful mechanism of the human body does not receive half the care that is often given to a mere lifeless machine.” –?
Gospel Workers, 175. HL 10.3 –?

Well, it is all because:
“The obligation we owe to God in presenting to him clean, pure, healthy bodies is not comprehended.”!!
Unpublished Testimonies, May 19, 1897. HL 11.2

It is in light of the above revelations that the Health Ambassador, by God’s grace, now undertakes the task of proclaiming the Advent-Hour Health Reform message, in the posts that follow.

🐏 Little Lambs’ Lyrics 🐏

📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖

🛐 I Will Early Seek The Saviour 🛐

I will early seek the Saviour, 🛐
I will learn of Him each day; 📖
I will follow in His footsteps, 👣
I will walk the narrow way. 🚶

Refrain
For He loves me, yes, He loves me,
Jesus loves me, this I know.
Jesus loves me, died to save me,
This is why I love Him so.

I will hasten where He bids me, 🏃
I am not too young to go 🚶
In the pathway where He leadeth, ⤴⬆
Not too young His will to know. 💡

He is standing at the doorway 🚪
Of escape from every sin; 🚷
I will knock, for He has promised, 📖
He will hear and let me in. 🛐

🛐Jesus, Tender Shepherd, Hear Me🛐

Jesus, tender Shepherd, hear me, 👂
Bless Thy little lamb tonight; 🐏
Through the darkness be Thou near me; 🛌
Watch my sleep till morning light.

All this day Thy hand has led me, 🚶
And I thank Thee for Thy care; 🏊🤸
Thou hast clothed 👚👔 me, warmed 🌡and fed 🍇🍽🌽📖 me;
Listen to my evening prayer. 🛐

When He Cometh

When He cometh, when He cometh
To make up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and his own,

Refrain
Like the stars of the morning,
His bright crown adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.

He will gather, He will gather
The gems for His kingdom,
All the pure ones, all the bright ones,
His loved and His own.

Little children, little children
Who love their Redeemer,
Are the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

Jesus, Friend of Little
Children

Jesus, Friend of little children, Be a Friend to me;
Take my hand and ever keep me Close to Thee.

Teach me how to grow in goodness, Daily as I grow;
Thou hast been a child, and surely Thou dost know.

Step by step, O, lead me onward, Upward into youth;
Wiser, stronger, still becoming In Thy truth.

Never leave me, nor forsake me, Ever be my Friend;
For I need Thee from life’s dawning To its end.

All Things Bright And Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings;
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple- headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning
That brightens up the sky,

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Hushed Was The Evening Hymn

Hushed was the evening hymn,
The temple courts were dark,
The lamp was burning dim
Before the sacred ark,
When suddenly a voice divine
Rang through the silence of the shrine.

O give me Samuel’s ear,
The open ear, O Lord,
Alive and quick to hear
Each whisper of Thy word!
Like him to answer at Thy call,
And to obey Thee first of all.

O give me Samuel’s heart,
A lowly heart, that waits
Where in Thy house Thou art,
Or watches at Thy gates!
By day and night, a heart that will
Moves at the breathing of Thy will.

O give me Samuel’s mind,
A sweet, unmurmuring faith,
Obedient and resigned
To Thee in life and death!
That I may read with childlike eyes
Truths that are hidden from the wise.

Jesus, I Will Follow Thee

Jesus, I will follow Thee,
For I hear Thee calling me;
Loving, trusting, glad I come,
To let Thee lead me home.

Refrain
I will follow Thee,
Wherever Thou dost lead.

Little eyes might lose the way,
Little feet might go astray;
I might weak and weary be.
But Thou art strong for me.

Grief and want may be my foes,
Foolish sins my way oppose;
Full of courage I will be,
Whene’er I follow Thee.

Once In Royal David’s City

Once in royal David’s city
Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her Baby
In a manger for His bed;
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ her little Child.

He came down to earth from heaven,
Who is God and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable,
And His cradle was a stall;
With the poor, and mean, and lowly,
Lived on earth our Saviour holy.

And through all His wondrous child-hood
He would honor and obey,
Love and watch the holy mother
In whose gentle arms He lay,
Christian children all must be
Mild, obedient, good as He.

Jesus is our childhood’s pattern,
Day by day like us He grew;
He was little, weak, and helpless,
Tears and smiles like us He knew;
And He feeleth for our sadness,
And He shareth in our gladness.

And our eyes at last shall see Him,
Through His own redeeming love;
For that child so dear and gentle
Is our Lord in heaven above;
And He leads His children on
To the place where He is gone.

Saviour, While My Heart Is Tender

Saviour, while my heart is tender,
I would yield that heart to Thee;
All my powers to Thee surrender,
Thine, and only Thine, to be.

Take me now, Lord Jesus, take me,
Let my youthful heart be Thine;
Thy devoted servant make me,
Fill my soul with love divine.

Send me, Lord, where Thou wilt send me,
Only do Thou guide my way;
May Thy grace through life attend me;
Gladly then shall I obey.
